So I am starting the day out weighing in at 178! I'm not too proud of that, but that's why we are here, right?!?! Ok, so I just got off the phone with my husband and he has challenged me...He thinks he can lose 30 pounds before I do...well, well, I think this has just got more serious! :)
Here's what my workout contained of today...
First and foremost, STRETCH, STRETCH, STRETCH!!! Making sure that your muscles are ready for a workout is the most important thing. In case some of you don't know what planking is, I have added a picture to help you understand (of course, that's not me in the picture). This is a plank...
In order to get the best results, you need to suck in your gut and your butt! I did 10 reps of 15 leg lifts in the plank position. After doing this and resting for about a minute, I rotated to a side plank and did another 10 reps. This is going to work out your abs as well as your flabby caboose! You will also feel it in your arms...but don't push yourself too hard on your first day because it'll make it harder to do tomorrow. After I completed these simple (yet trying) exercises, I moved on to some lunges...OUCH! I held 5 pound weights and did 30 lunges, before I fell to the ground almost in tears. It was rough!!
Tonight, I will walk about 2 miles and jump on the trampoline with the girls, just for some extra cardio. Good luck :)

To tell you a little about myself....
Have you ever looked in the mirror and just didn't like what you saw? Well it's been hard for me to look in that dreaded mirror everyday. Two years ago I was sitting comfortably at 133lbs...today, I am at 178...Not good! When I started working out two years ago I was going to the gym with a friend...but now, I'm flying solo! I started out at 198lbs and in less than 6 months I lost the 65 pounds and I kept it off for about 6 months. I was in the gym at least 5 days a week for 6-7 hours a day. With my schedule, that just isn't possible now, so I am doing this all at home in my "Free Time".
I decided to blog this experience because I wanted to share my daily struggles and accomplishments with those who also dread the 5 am mirror. I can't change my diet much because things are just too expensive, but I will note what I do eat and how much. We'll see if this works for me or against me. My plan is to post daily and tell you about my day, my meals and my workouts. Wish me luck!!! Let's get started!
